Faculty Assistant / Associate Professor (Academic Clinician Track), Division of Cardiology, Section of Echocardiography
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Candidates must be certified or board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
The completion of a fourth year of advanced imaging training or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an active echocardiography program is required. Specific interests in transesophageal and 3D echocardiography are preferred. Interests in performing collaborative echo related quality initiatives and/or research are highly sought after.
The echocardiography laboratory at the Cardiac Center of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a state of the art imaging center that perform over 30,000 studies per year. Staffed by a collaborative team of specialized imaging experts with areas of excellence in quality initiatives, echocardiography research and education of fellows. Leadership opportunities within the echocardiography laboratory exist for interested candidates in these defined areas. The main focus of clinical duties includes staffing the echocardiography laboratory along with participation in the clinical education of medical students, residents and cardiology fellows. Additional clinical duties may include providing outpatient and inpatient consultative services.
