Faculty Tenure-track Faculty Position, Mathematics and Statistics (Applied Mathematics)
Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (http://www.haverford.edu/math/) at the Assistant Professor level (a more advanced appointment is possible in exceptional cases) beginning Fall 2018. Applicants must work in an area of applied mathematics, preferably with a focus on mathematical modeling. It is desirable for the applicant to contribute to the College’s broader curriculum, forging connections with other natural sciences and/or interdisciplinary concentrations or minors; see https://www.haverford.edu/academics/majors-minors-and-concentrations.
Applicants should provide evidence of excellence in teaching, a desire to teach a diverse student body in a liberal-arts setting, an ability to contribute to the Haverford math curriculum at all levels (including advising senior thesis work), and an outstanding research program with a well-developed plan for future work. The successful candidate for the position should have completed their PhD by the time of the appointment.
