Faculty Assistant or Associate Professor in Child Health
The Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is recruiting a tenure-track faculty member addressing Child Health at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The PFRH faculty is multi-disciplinary and have broad and diverse research, practice and teaching portfolios. The Department is home to eight Centers and large research and practice initiatives. A life course perspective with a focus on the health of populations links our work across these efforts and is fundamental to the Department’s mission. The Department’s graduate education program attracts highly talented students both domestically and internationally. Graduates of the Department pursue careers as faculty, research scientists, public health interventionists and evaluators who actively contribute to the scientific literature and assume important academic posts and public health leadership positions globally.
The successful applicant will apply a life course perspective in pursuing innovative research addressing child health. Scholarship will be evidenced by contributions to the scientific literature and increasing recognition in the candidate’s field of interest. The selected individual will be encouraged to build on the existing strength of the faculty, Centers, and initiatives within the Department and, as appropriate, work with faculty across the School and the University while building an independent research portfolio. New faculty members are expected to become fully integrated into the department’s graduate education and student mentoring activities. Departmental resources and faculty mentorship will support development of an externally funded independent research program. A doctoral degree in public health, psychology, social science, medicine, demography, or related fields is required. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
