Faculty Assistant Professor, Psychology

To add to our esteemed faculty, we are currently seeking an Assistant Professor in Psychology at our Pleasantville (Westchester County) campus.
Position Summary:
Dyson College of Arts and Sciences of Pace University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychology at our 200-acre Pleasantville, NY (Westchester County) campus. For full consideration, applications should be submitted before February 11th.
The candidate will have completed their Ph.D. in psychology, with the position open to a variety of subdisciplines, particularly clinical psychology (from an APA- or PCSAS-accredited program), cognitive psychology, forensic psychology, neuroscience, industrial/organizational psychology, and sports psychology.
We are seeking candidates with strong methodological and quantitative backgrounds who will complement existing strengths in the department in trauma, resilience, mindfulness, social capitalization, and positive functioning. A commitment to principles of open and transparent scientific practices is desirable. Applicants should be prepared to develop, initiate, and successfully implement a program of research, seek external grant funding, and collaborate with senior researchers in the department.
The successful candidate should be committed to undergraduate education and will have opportunities to teach at the master’s and doctoral levels, as well as advise and mentor students at all levels in executing research projects. A demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning and excellence in teaching are required. Strong consideration will be given to applicants whose research and/or mentoring is focused on under-served communities.
The Pace University Pleasantville Psychology Department has one of the largest majors in the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, with high quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The department has a small faculty, a collegial environment, and a thriving license-eligible master’s program in Mental Health Counseling (MS) in addition to a doctoral program in Mental Health Counseling (PhD). A fully online master’s program (MA) in Clinical Psychological Science is currently being developed.
The Pleasantville campus is in the suburb of Westchester, approximately 30 miles north of New York City. Please note that the Psychology Department at Pleasantville is administratively separate from the Psychology Department of the downtown Manhattan campus of Pace University.
