Academic Support Staff Research Technologist 2
Penn State Great Valley is seeking a Research Technologist who would lead the development and execution of machine learning models, analyzing, and synthesizing findings from multiple research projects. This work would involve collaborating and supporting faculty members from a variety of disciplines including software and systems engineering, engineering management, and data analytics programs. This position also involves utilizing and managing a team of part-time research support students on these projects and tracking, communicating, and presenting progress on research projects on a weekly basis. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred qualifications include 3 – 5 years of experience with big data and machine learning technologies and high performance computing. Successful candidate will have a strong programming background in R, Python and Perl, experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, knowledge of data visualization techniques, and a knack for statistical analysis and predictive modeling. Incumbent must be able to work independently while ensuring quality and integrity of research results. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from the date of hire.
