The Siena College Board of Trustees and campus community seek in the 12th President of the College a visionary, innovative, and decisive servant leader whose life exemplifies strong Catholic and Franciscan values. Working in close collaboration with the College’s stakeholders, the President will move Siena to new heights of academic, institutional and reputational excellence in the context of its Catholic heritage and its Franciscan tradition.
Siena College is a Franciscan and Catholic four-year, private, coeducational liberal arts college. Founded in 1937 by seven Franciscan friars from St. Bonaventure University, the College has grown into a thriving institution with more than 3,100 undergraduate and 110 graduate students, 36 majors, 2 master’s degrees, and more than 80 minors and certificates. 206 full-time and 132 part-time faculty provide an education that is rigorous, personal, and hands-on. The College’s beautiful 175-acre campus is located in the residential community of Loudonville, NY, a few miles from the New York State Capital of Albany as well as air and rail transportation.
During the past five years, Siena College has had marked successes in academic programming, enrollment and marketing, fundraising and facility development. Those successes include enrolling the largest freshman class in the College’s history in fall 2019; introducing the St. Francis Scholarship to ensure greater socio-economic diversity within the student body; adding eight new majors and an MBA; growing net total assets by more than $35 million; raising the endowment to more than $130 million; achieving its largest non-campaign fundraising year ever in 2018-19, with gifts totaling more than $10 million; and completing a $13.5 million renovation of athletics facilities.

The 12thPresident will have opportunities to establish a vision and strategic plan for the College, implement the facilities master plan, and lead a comprehensive campaign to support those plans. The successful candidate will have a track record of exceptional senior leadership in complex institutions or organizations, a significant level of financial and operational acumen, demonstrated expertise in donor development, community engagement, and fundraising, commitment to student success, and superb communication and team-building skills. S/he will be a servant leader with a passion for Franciscan values demonstrated in his or her life and a deep personal understanding of the academic endeavor.
