Faculty Senior Research Associate, Center on Democracy
The Center on Democracy at the University of Chicago supports research at the intersection of democratic theory and empirical studies of democracy. The Senior Research Associate will contribute as part of the research group and will work with the faculty Director to advance the research agenda and programmatic activities of the Center. Working in collaboration with the faculty director, the Senior Research Associate will have the opportunity to conduct original research and (co-)author academic publications.
The Senior Research Associate is expected to have an active fundraising role in obtaining grants and sponsorship and carrying out funded research, and may also serve as co-Investigator or Principal Investigator on research grants. The position requires an advanced degree in Political Science, Economics, or a related field, and a strong record of experience in research management and/or running an academic center.
The Senior Research Associate will also work with the faculty Director to develop and implement a comprehensive research and programmatic strategy for the Center. This will include serving as liaison between the Center and various offices within the University of Chicago, and with various funding and other agencies that can advance the Center’s research agenda.
