The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health invites applicants for an open Assistant Professor position to begin on July 1, 2025. The position includes 9 months of state-supported salary, with a current base pay range of $74,600 – $83,100. Other components of pay are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. The position is broadly defined in the area of human health impact associated with pollution of water, soil, and/or food by chemical, biological or physical stressors. Candidates with expertise in laboratory and field-based research approaches, and those addressing climate change impacts and health equity are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally supported research program, teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, engage in organization service, and develop into leaders in their field.Los Angeles is a global city renowned for its dynamism, robust economy, rich cultural diversity and spectacular climate. This Department has particular strengths in the areas of industrial hygiene and occupational health, aerosol science, air pollution, spatiotemporal exposure assessment and environmental epidemiologic research, and health equity, as well as in big data.
