The UCLA Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health is undertaking an open-rank search for a state-funded tenure-track or tenured Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Epidemiology (https://epi.ph.ucla.edu) and Co-Director of our Cancer Molecular Epidemiology Training Program. We seek an outstanding candidate with an active research portfolio and extensive cancer epidemiology training experience in cancer and molecular epidemiology. Preference will be given to candidates who take both a population approach and a molecular genetic approach in cancer research and have a history of successful external funding, consistent with career stage. The successful candidate should have a strong track record and dedication to teaching courses in modern epidemiologic methods, as well as in their specialty areas and a strong track record in cancer epidemiology research training. Since its inception, the UCLA Department of Epidemiology has established itself as a leader in epidemiologic theory and methods, applied epidemiology, and public health. We are looking for a candidate with excellence in cancer research and dedication to training the next generation of cancer epidemiologists.The Fielding School of Public Health is located on the main UCLA campus in direct proximity to the other health sciences schools (Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing), several professional schools, the College of Letters and Science and the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center which offers shared resources and multi-disciplinary collaborative opportunities with its members. The UCLA community as a whole has a strong history of and commitment to interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The Department also has strong research and training relations with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health as well as with national and international institutions.Successful candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, MD, DrPH or equivalent) in Epidemiology or related field, a strong track record in cancer epidemiologic research, teaching and training of pre- and/or post-doctoral students, peer-reviewed publications, extramural funding and a demonstrated commitment to cancer molecular epidemiology and public health. Faculty appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
