The Grace Abbott School of Social Work (GASSW), a part of the College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS) at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor position with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2022. The assistant professor will teach across graduate and undergraduate social work curricula, engage in research and scholarly activities, and provide departmental, university, and professional service, including collaborating with colleagues across campus/es and the community at large.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.
The GASSW offers the BSSW and MSW degrees and has strong commitments and investments in research and teaching in several areas including global engagement, children and families, mental health practice, and gerontology. The school offers dual degrees with Public Administration, Public Health, and Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have an MSW or equivalent from a CSWE-accredited program, two years of post-MSW experience, and a doctoral degree in Social Work or a related field (ABD candidates may also be considered).
Preferred Qualifications: Practice, research, or policy experience and interest in areas such as policy and advocacy, community practice, social justice and human rights, health and mental health, substance abuse, and populations at risk will be highly regarded. Experience working with diverse multicultural, vulnerable, or underserved groups is preferred.
