Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Hematology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of immune-mediated hemostatic disorders with specific focus on alloantibodies to coagulation proteins. A focus on clinical participation in the hematologic guidance of the care of pediatric patients with inhibitors combined with ongoing research in this area is desirable. Applicants must have an M.D. degree or equivalent, be board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology or board-eligible, and within five years of completing fellowship.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, pediatric residents and pediatric hematology/oncology fellows, as well as PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient service in pediatric hematology.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include research in the area of immune-mediated hemostatic disorders with specific focus on alloantibodies to coagulation proteins. A focus on clinical participation in the hematologic guidance of the care of pediatric patients with inhibitors combined with ongoing research in this area is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain extramural funding from grants and other sources and develop a strong record of scholarly publications.
