Faculty Assistant Professor (Clinician Educator Track), Suicide Prevention
The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible in PA.
The Center for the Prevention of Suicide has a 15-year history of using research to develop and evaluate evidence-based practices for suicide prevention and to improve the care of individuals at-risk for suicide in healthcare settings. We seek candidates for a faculty position to be the Associate Director of the Center. This position has three primary goals: (1) to improve and change clinical practice with regard to suicide prevention within the health system by providing clinical administrative support to implement evidence-based practices to reduce suicide risk, (2) to disseminate evidence-based practices by educating health system staff, and (3) to develop and carry out a parallel research agenda with regard to the dissemination and implementation of suicide prevention practices.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research with a focus on services research and dissemination and implementation science in the field of suicide prevention. The ideal candidate will have experience with evidence-based practices for suicide prevention across the life span including specific expertise in Cognitive Therapy for Suicide Prevention and the Safety Planning Intervention. Previous experience collaborating with large healthcare systems is also desired.
