Faculty Assistant Professor, Imaging Genomics and Computational Biology

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of developing and applying state-of-the-art imaging-based high-throughput and computational approaches to address basic and translational questions in cell biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, cancer biology, or epigenetics. Areas of expertise include some combination of cutting-edge microscopy, live imaging, genomic, computational, or single-cell approaches. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research.  Candidates must have evidence of publications and academic scholarship.

Teaching responsibilities may include mentoring of graduate and medical students, an integral component of this position.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include maintaining an independent, extramurally funded research program.

The position is affiliated with the newly founded Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). CCGM is housed in the state-of-the-art Colket Translational Research Building. The recruitment is part of a campus-wide initiative to promote innovative genomic and computational strategies for advancing human health and therapy development.
