Faculty Associate or Full Professor, Tenure Track Or Clinician Educator, Pediatric Oncology
The Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of leadership in building a research team and mentoring other established and junior researchers and trainees. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and mentoring junior faculty, residents, fellows, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and medical students.
Clinical responsibilities may include providing inpatient and outpatient care to Pediatric Oncology patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in University City.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include NIH-funded clinical and translational research focused on pediatric cancer survivors with a particular interest on areas such as: (a) genomic and epigenomic predictors of risk for adverse late events; (2) interventional trials to decrease the risk of developing specific adverse events and/or ameliorate the severity of these events, ideally using precision medicine approaches; or (3) identification of risks of late effects following newer precision medicine targeted therapies or immunotherapies.
Established applicants with an NIH-funded research program who are looking to expand their personal research efforts and to nucleate development of a larger Program that includes investigators focused on non-cancer areas of pediatric medicine are particularly encouraged to apply.
