The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of in the field of Neuromuscular Medicine with a focus on gene therapy approaches for treating neurodegenerative diseases. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, and neuromuscular fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include clinical care of patients with neuromuscular diseases and participation in a large, multi-disciplinary ALS center. This may include inpatient neurology service time in line with the standard clinical department requirements.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from governmental agencies, private foundations, and industry.
