Faculty Visiting Professor (or Visiting Lecturer if A.B.D.) in Formal Organizations

The Shelby Cullom Davis Endowment for American Business and Economic Enterprise at Trinity College seeks to hire visiting faculty, rank open, beginning September 2024 or possibly a future date depending on the candidate. We seek scholars who are committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research. The Shelby Cullom Davis Endowment at Trinity College was created to foster understanding of markets, organizations, and entrepreneurship. Faculty may teach courses from a broad established curriculum. Examples of courses are Formal Organizations and Market Behavior, Entrepreneurship and Markets, Matching Markets, Issues in Methodological Individualism, Leaderless Organizations, Theory and Philosophy of Markets, and Voice, Exit, and Power in Organizations. Trinity College seeks a faculty that reflects the changing demographics of our student body. Our student body is diverse, representing 41 states and 70 countries, with 21 percent U.S. students of color and 50 percent who identify as women. More than 90 percent of students live on campus. Qualifications
PhD or PhD expected in Economics, Public Policy, History, Sociology, or other relevant field, or similar degree, such as JD. Candidates considered for non-tenure-track, temporary positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Applicants who require an H1-B visa cannot be considered for temporary positions. Applicants for non-tenure-track, temporary positions who require sponsorship for visas other than an H1-B visa will be required to pay all costs associated with visa applications.

In a cover letter applicants should carefully discuss areas of teaching and research interests. A separate teaching statement (including your approach to teaching students from diverse backgrounds) should address pedagogy and areas of teaching interest. Completed applications, including CV, three letters of recommendation, transcript, teaching statement, a writing sample, and official summaries of teaching evaluations, should be received by August 20, 2024 for to receive full consideration for a Fall 2024 start date or later for a potential January 2025 start date. Initial virtual interviews will be conducted in the last third of August. Applicants are asked to list contact information for reference providers, including email addresses. Once a completed dossier is submitted, automatic emails will be generated to each reference provider, directing each referee to a unique URL where the referee must upload a letter of recommendation. Applicants using Interfolio (or other dossier service) should provide the appropriate unique Interfolio email address for each reference letter writer.
